David Friedler

As a psychotherapist, I am continually committed to providing a safe and supportive experience for my clients. Using traditional and more current modalities I work to help people address behaviors that may affect interpersonal, relational, and career challenges. All are welcomed in therapy to learn new ways to manage the obstacles to personal social and occupational wellbeing. I work with people around longstanding issues of depression and anxiety, relationship difficulties, as well as adjustment to educational and career transitions. My background is founded in Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral and Mindfulness approaches. I encourage people to develop a self compassionate practice. The goal is often to become mindful of one's thoughts and feelings and to understand the interconnection of those thoughts to behavior and wellbeing. I have counseled people for many years from a diversity of ages, cultures and sexual orientations. I work with young and middle aged adults in individual and couples counseling. Referrals may be accepted from the individual, hospital case manager or other professionals in the community. I have particular sensitivity to issues in the gay community.
