In my way of working with you, I lay my personal issues aside for our time together and give myself plenty of internal space to resonate with you on a gut level. As I hear your story in words I also hear it in feelings. A good therapist puts these two narratives together, the spoken one and the emotional one, in getting to an accurate understanding of you. When I merge this understanding with my training in psychology, which is extensive, I'm able to reflect purposefully with you about what might be wrong; about "how" you're hurting. As our work proceeds, the therapy hour becomes an emotionally safe space for us to begin finally to make sense of difficult feelings. I maintain my office in a comfortable residential-style setting in southwest Oklahoma City. I generally work in 55-minute sessions once or twice weekly during daytime and evening hours.
