Hearing from the heart and seeking help with paralyzing personal challenges can be a daunting experience. Finding someone to connect with in the process of personal healing is half the battle to a solution. Keeping the person at the center of the therapeutic process is a goal for me. I have employed this approach for over 16 years of practice in Western NC. While this majestic mountain setting is a place of unique beauty it is not free of personal challenges that may need a calm and skilled approach to navigating life' s challenges. I work with adolescents, adults and families who are challenged by substance abuse, family and relational challenges and other barriers to a happy life. An eclectic approach is often required as problems are as unique as the person involved. I am fluent in conversational Spanish and can ease transitions for people who have language anxiety. I have provided therapy services in the school system for 6 years dealing with juvenile court referred youth with oppositional behaviors. I have worked delivering in home family therapy providing solutions to generational and substance abuse related conflicts. I have particularly enjoyed conducting adolescent and adult intensive out patient substance abuse and personal growth groups.
