JoAnn Mitchell

JoAnn is committed to providing the highest quality therapy to help improve her clients' quality of life by addressing areas of need including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relational issues, and substance related issues. JoAnn earned her B.A. from Elmira College in education and psychology and earned her M.Ed and Ed.S in School Psychology from Georgia State University. JoAnn has spent over 30 years working in diverse settings including public schools, college settings, juvenile corrections, and presently has a counseling practice with the intent of supporting clients to overcome any life challenge. JoAnn’s commitment to supporting and empowering others inspired her to open charter schools in New York City and NM to serve underserved students and their families. Influenced by her years of service work, JoAnn obtained her counseling license and is now providing the same high quality support and empowerment to her clients through her counseling practice.
