I have been a therapist for over 30 years and have worked extensively in addiction and mental health. Clients have differing expectations from counseling. Throughout my years as a counselor, I have heard some clients say that they have had counseling in the past but it did not help them. At other times, clients start counseling but then decide it is not the right time for them. Counseling takes commitment on the part of the client and an honest appraisal of what is working and not working in their lives. Counseling is a difficult process but one that yields wonderful, lifetime dividends. I will encourage you to identify your specific area(s) of concern. We will explore your strengths and successes and how they may help solve problems. Each stage of life presents challenges. Some issues may take time to resolve. Learning coping skills, becoming more assertive, and learning to say "no" are important skills I can teach you. My office provides a safe, comfortable atmosphere for my clients. I am conveniently located in Indian Harbour Beach, on A1A near the Eau Gallie Blvd intersection.
