Laura Amelia Musalem Canahuate

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I offer trauma-informed, bilingual (English/Spanish), and culturally responsive therapy for adults and couples. I support clients in strengthening relationships, healing from trauma, and navigating multicultural and immigrant experiences, grief, and life transitions. My client-centered, collaborative approach creates a safe, supportive space for exploration, healing, and growth. I walk alongside clients with compassion, curiosity, and respect. I offer attachment- and trauma-based therapy that integrates CBT, IFS, art therapy, and existential exploration. I help clients heal attachment wounds, manage anxiety and depression, improve communication, and navigate identity-related stress. I support those feeling stuck or disconnected in finding deeper self-understanding and growth. I’m originally from the Dominican Republic and bring warmth, cultural humility, and empathy to my work. I know that beginning therapy takes courage—reaching out means facing old wounds, relational patterns, or parts of yourself you’ve learned to silence. I honor this vulnerability and offer a safe, supportive space to feel seen, heard, and heal.
