Janet Laxalt

My philosophy is that of possibility; regardless of the obstacles a person may be faced with, there is almost always a solution. I provide support and guidance to help clients find solutions to life problems and work toward finding effective ways to respond to life challenges. My approach is supportive and collaborative, with a strong interest in building upon individual strengths. Goals are aimed to bring about a feeling of relief, a new perspective, and a set of strategies that promote change along with a sense of holistic well being. Janet has lived in the Reno/Tahoe basin for 25+ years. Further, Janet loves her work and holds dear her family history of aiding others with life challenges, including growing up as the daughter of a prominent French psychologist, while raising a daughter who now practices therapy in Portland, Oregon. As a Great Basin practitioner, Janet lends significant attention to lifestyle choice, spirituality, social and relational issues, while utilizing empirically proven methodology in her work. In her free time, Janet enjoys her family, her dog Biscuit, spending time outdoors, traveling, enjoying theater and expanding her horizons.
