About Alcohol

When alcohol or other drug use becomes problematic, the mind, body, and spirit are negatively impacted. Behavioral choices, when under the influence, tend to multiply life problems. This sometimes leads to feelings of hopelessness, a sense of being on a merry-go-round that never stops. Often there are feelings of guilt and shame because much of society still judges alcohol/drug misuse, believing it to be the result of a weak will or flawed moral values. As a counselor, I use an integrative approach to facilitate positive change. Within a confidential caring environment, we explore how your alcohol/ drug use is enhancing and/or harming your life and, ultimately, your happiness. With a goal identified, we can then devise specific ways to decrease your use or to attain or maintain total abstinence.
